Meteorite Display (Campo del cielo - whole meteorite and meteorite slice), comes with display case/stands & label (as shown). The display case is in very good condition with no marks / scratches, case dimensions: 27 cm (L) x 17 cm (W) x 15 cm (H).

Both the whole meteorite and the meteorite slice are from the Campo del cielo fall, situated North-West of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is classed as a coarse octahedrite, this refers to the formation of Iron/Nickel crystals which grow large / coarse due to the very slow cooling of the main body of this meteorite.

The whole meteorite weighs 1.075 kg and is approximately 8.5 cm x 8 cm x 4 cm. The slice shows a very clear Widmanstatten pattern on both sides and weighs 286 g and is approximately 12.0 cm x 7 cm x 0.5 cm.
