Fossil Ichthyosaur (Stenopterygius sp.) tail vertebra and paddle prepared in original matrix (Posidonia shale). There is one clean break (as indicated in the final picture by the red line), resin has been applied to the back of the matrix to give added stability.

This is from an old collection / old preparation and could be further enhanced by additional preparation.

Originates form Schömberger Bruch, Baden Württemberg, Germany & dates to the Early Jurassic Period.
