Eurypholis boissieri (Fossil Viper Fish) Pos + Neg - Lebanon - Cretaceous Period
Superb example (Pos + Neg plates) of Eurypholis boissieri (Viper Fish). This fossil originates from Hakel, Lebanon and dates to the Cretaceous Period. The matirx has been repaired a few time, but there is no restoration, both halves of the fish are 100% natural / free from paint.
Nice bone structure and great detail with a fish in stomach (highlighted in blue in the last picture).
Fish: 13.5 cm x 2.6 cm (the slammer fish is 4.9 cm x 1.2 cm)
Matrix: 22.3 cm x 13.2 cm (the other half has been cut smaller and is 18.5 cm x 9.5 cm)
